Virtual Students – Getting Help
- Your first point of contact is always your teacher.
- You can contact your teacher through Google Classroom.
- You can email your teacher – go to the district website, elkinsdistrict.org, choose your school under the school tab then click on the faculty directory for a list of teachers and their email addresses.
- Call the office and leave a message

- My Chromebook isn’t working correctly – for example, the camera is not working, the cursor is not moving, etc.
- Most problems can be resolved by restarting or power washing.
- To restart – hold down the power button for 7 secs then boot it back up and see if that fixes it.
- Instructions to power wash a Chromebook are here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/scschoolfiles/331/powerwashing_a_chromebook.pdf
- Contact your teacher to see if she has further instructions.
- If you are still having issues go to the Technology Department help website: http://support.elkinsdistrict.org/support/home You can enter a tech support ticket or start a chat. Our work hours are 7:30 – 4:00, but we may be away from our desks or helping others. We will get back with you as soon as we can.
- The technology department or my teacher has told me I need to swap out my Chromebook. How do I do that?
- Typically a replacement Chromebook and charger will be left in the school office and you can bring your Chromebook and charger and trade them out.
